We welcomes you to this year’s International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS 2022) in Kyoto, Japan. To help you prepare, we’ve put together this quick reference guide so you’re ready for a successful event.

Stop COVID-Spread

The IROS2022 Stop COVID-Spread Countermeasure (SC2) Committee requests ALL ONSITE conference attendees including their accompanying persons, irrespective whether they are local or visiting from abroad, to strictly observe the following rules, so that all the participants can enjoy fruitful discussion with the minimum fear of infection.

Get a PCR or antigen test within 3 days before your first visit to the IROS2022 venue

and submit your test result using the dedicated Google Form before your arrival at the IROS2022 venue

All onsite attendees are required to take a one-time COVID-19 test within 3 days before their first visit to the conference venue (ICC Kyoto) and confirm the negative result using the Google Form.

If you do not get a negative result for a PCR or antigen test before attending the IROS2022, you cannot enter the conference venue.

Show the response email from the Google Form at the registration desk

When you submit your Covid negative result through the Google Form, you will receive a response email at the address you entered during the submission. Please show that response email to the staff right before you visit the registration desk (located in the Event Hall). If this will be your first visit to the venue, please enter the Event Hall only after showing the response email to the staff.

Mandatory that all IROS 2022 onsite participants MUST follow to stop COVID-19

Requests to participants from Kyoto International Conference Center (ICC Kyoto):

Take your body temperature every day before leaving home or hotel.
Wear masks and observe the coughing etiquettes (e.g., cough under your elbow).
Thoroughly disinfect your hands and wash them regularly.
Refrain from participating if you meet any conditions mandating admission restriction.
Refrain from discarding masks on the conference venue.

Registration

Considering the risk of COVID19 infection, we will not hand out name tags at the reception desk of IROS2022. Instead, a QR code will be distributed to each registrant in the JTB registration system. Please take your QR to the conference reception desk and scan the code to receive your name tag.

IROS 2022 will NOT hold a welcome reception, conference banquet, or farewell party during the conference. Instead, the conference will distribute boxed lunches on October 24th and 25th and provide sandwiches at award luncheon on October 26th. The boxed lunches will be carefully prepared and stylishly wrapped in a Japanese-style “Furoshiki” cloth that can be taken home as souvenirs. Note that Furoshiki cloth on October 24th and 25th will be limited to the first 3,500 registrants.

In addition to the free lunch, our agency (JTB) will also prepare lunch boxes for those who attend workshops on the 23rd and 27th. These boxes will be charged.

INFOVAYA and ConferenceApp

The INFOVAYA web platform for IROS is now open to all registrants! This platform is the only place to view the program and develop a personalized schedule of sessions and activities you want to attend. Furthermore, you’ll be able to access all IROS 2022 technical papers including the 7-minute oral presentation videos that will be presented at the conference. It also serves as the main gateway for all virtual registrants.

Log in using the same email address aligned with your IROS 2022 registration. If you are a first-time user, please click on “Logging in for the first time?” and follow instructions to set your password. We encourage you to login, familiarize yourself with the platform, review the program, and update your profile.

The INFOVAYA mobile app is available to Apple and Android users.

Plenary & Keynote Presentations

Participate in the daily Plenary and Keynote sessions. Start your day listening to world renowned experts in the field of robotics and take time to join the conversation during the afternoon keynotes.

Oral Sessions & Poster Presentations

One of the main reasons to participate in this conference is to either present or attend presentations by your peers. This year, we’ll hold sessions as hybrid fashion. Check here for in-person and virtual presentation instructions.

Workshops & Tutorials

Those registered for the workshops/tutorials program will have access to more than 40 full or half day events.

IROS Outstanding Paper Awards

We will be announcing the IROS 2022 outstanding paper awards during the awards luncheon on Wednesday. On Monday and Tuesday, we will have award sessions, in parallel to the oral session, where you can see all the award finalists.

IROS 2022 has a fantastic set of almost seventy partners and exhibitors that will showcase the latest technologies in all areas of robotics. Our partners and exhibitors are very eager to engage with the robotics community as well as those seeking employment opportunities.

About Kyoto
